BGC East Scarborough is committed to supporting young children with extra support needs and their families, ensuring every child has the resources, guidance, and opportunities to grow, develop, and thrive. Our Inclusion Services provide a range of programs and supports designed to empower families and enhance the quality of community programs.

Resource Consultation

Our Inclusion Resource Consultant offers a multi-focus approach to support children and childcare environments, which may include:
  • Individualized consultation for each child’s needs
  • Guidance to promote high-quality, inclusive childcare programs
  • Professional training for staff and caregivers

Cost: Fully funded through the City of Toronto’s Every Child Belongs unit — provided at no cost to families and programs.

Note for childcare supervisors: Referrals for services, individual consultation, program consultation, and training must be submitted via the Every Child Belongs online portal. Parental consent is required for individual consultations.

Families in Settlement Together

In partnership with Catholic Crosscultural Services, BGC East Scarborough supports Families in Settlement Together, a holistic program providing settlement support and specialized needs assessment for families — including those with children with special needs.

Programs include:

  • One-on-one family support
  • Group activities and virtual community connections
  • Parenting skills workshops
  • Age-appropriate interest classes for children

Cost: Provided at no cost to families.
