At BGC East Scarborough, we are committed to food security and culturally relevant meals for our community members and supporters. From operating local food banks to providing affordable meals for shelters and programs, our initiatives are designed to ensure everyone has access to fresh, nutritious food.

Catering for the Community

Our state-of-the-art kitchen and in-house chefs partner with organizations like Scott Mission and Evas Women’s Shelter to provide affordable catering and fresh, locally prepared meals. Our licensed childcare program also serves lunches that celebrate the cultural diversity of our BIPOC community.

Local Food Bank with Orton Park

Our Food Support program operates a weekly food bank serving the Orton Park community, providing free groceries and non-perishable items to families in need. This program fosters connection, support, and community resilience, thanks to contributions from Second Harvest and other local partners.

For over 20 years, BGC East Scarborough has partnered with Second Harvest, which redirects unsold surplus food from businesses across Canada to non-profits, helping feed communities in every province and territory.
