BGC East Scarborough is deeply committed to our community, prioritizing food security and culturally relevant food options for our members and supporters. Our initiatives include operating food banks in local spaces and providing affordable meals to shelters and community programs in our state-of-the-art kitchen.

Catering for the Community

Our kitchen and in-house chefs collaborate with local organizations including Scotts Mission and the Evas Women Shelter to provide affordable catering services and offer their community members fresh, locally prepared meals. Additionally, our licensed childcare program offers full-time care, including lunches thoughtfully designed to reflect the cultural diversity of our BIPOC community. You can view their weekly menu here.

If you are interested in learning about our catering and pricing, please email KitchenOperations@esbgc.ca

Our Local Food Bank With Orton Park

Our Food Support program operates a weekly food bank serving the Orton Park community. This initiative fosters a sense of togetherness while providing free food and non-perishable items to assist with weekly grocery needs. The food bank is supported by contributions from Second Harvest and other local food support organizations.

If you are interested in donating to our food bank, please email KitchenOperations@esbgc.ca

Our Partnership with Second Harvest

For over 15 years, BGC East Scarborough has had the support of Second Harvest. Second Harvest connects with businesses from across the supply chain to redirect their unsold surplus food to non-profit organizations that feed communities in every province and territory in Canada.
