TAIBU Community Health Centre (the “Centre”), is a community health center located in the Malvern area of Scarborough. The Centre’s mission is to: “…provide primary health care and related services for Black populations across the Greater Toronto Area as its priority population and residents of the local community. Recognizing that systemic oppression has fostered conditions of ill-health with Black communities, we strive to deliver these services through intersectional, equity-based, and culturally affirming practices that promote holistic wellness, health education, and prevention.
We are seeking Ambassadors to promote the COVID19 Equity supports that the centre is providing. These supports include:
- Access to relevant, truthful and timely information about COVID19 (vaccines and testing)
- Access to Mental-Health services
- Access to food
- Access to Personal protective equipment (masks, hand sanitizer, face shields and gloves)
- Access to child minding services and funds
- Access to isolation centres, including transportation to and from and including all meals while in isolation
- Access to transporation supports to avoid crowded public transit
- Access to testing clinics
- Access to vaccinations and information about vaccinations
- Access to other community supports for you and your family
- Access to the centre’s COVID19 Equity Action Plan team
