FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Inaugural Scarborough One Love Fest Brings 3 Days of Culture to the Metro Toronto Zoo, June 19–21, 2026
Scarborough, ON – June 19–21, 2026 – A vibrant celebration of culture, community, and connection is coming to Metro Toronto Zoo this summer. The Scarborough One Love Fest, taking place June 19-21, will bring together music, food, artisans, cultural experiences for a three-day festival supporting youth programs delivered by BGC East Scarborough.
BGC East Scarborough is a community-based B3 non-profit organization (Black-led, Black-focused, and Black-serving) and part of the global Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada movement. The organization supports children, youth, and families through safe, inclusive programs that build confidence, leadership, and strong community connections.
Scarborough One Love Fest serves as a key fundraising event in support of BGC East Scarborough’s programs, with a special focus on Be Boundless, a transformative youth initiative that offers participants the opportunity to engage in a cultural and cross-continental immersion experience in Africa. The program is designed to foster global awareness, leadership development, and cultural appreciation among youth.
Since 2019, the Be Boundless program has facilitated five international exchanges to Ghana, Benin, and Togo, providing young people with life-changing opportunities to explore heritage, build cross-cultural connections, and develop a global perspective.
Festival attendees can expect live music and performances – including internationally acclaimed artistes, diverse cultural cuisine, artisan vendors, family-friendly activities, and community showcases throughout the weekend. The event aims to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of Scarborough while raising vital funds to expand opportunities for youth.
“Scarborough One Love Fest is about more than entertainment – it’s about bringing people together to support the next generation,” said Nerissa Cariño, BGC East Scarborough’s Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships, Stewardship Development & EDI. “Through programs like Be Boundless, we are creating meaningful opportunities for young people to grow as leaders and global citizens.”
Community members, families, and visitors from across the region are invited to attend and experience the energy, culture, and unity that define Scarborough.
